We love it when one of our photos hits the press! Thank-you Forward Rabun, CJ Thompson, and Tracy McCoy for selecting “PAWS ABOARD” as your lead photo for your “Dog Days of Summer” article in the Laurel of Northeast Georgia Magazine’s August 2023 issue.
The funny things about this photo—other than cuteness overload when you get two five month old puppies in anything, especially a kayak on Lake Rabun, GA: 1) Gracie’s head’s still dry as in she’s not learned to swim yet. 2) Right after this photo, litter-mate sis, Teddie, dares her to jump out but only Teddie belly-splashes out. 3) Revengeful, Teddie does a quick-thinking, mean sisterly-thing by pushing (with her paws and snout) the kayak, with Gracie still on board, out towards the middle of the lake! 4) Petrified Gracie was thankful we were able to catch the rope, even though they both had on Ruffwear doggy life vests. Of course Gracie did eventually learn to swim, but being aptly named after a princess, she still prefers not to get her pretty head wet. Teddie doesn’t fret about her golden locks . . . and dunks right in.
